There's this photo of a girl in a picture book
who demands that you take another look
because you know her and also not at all
a lady lying on the couch in an easy sprawl

and she smiles so sweetly at the photographer man
twinkling eyes with a short attention span
they dart across the room, always want more
keep on wondering where you've seen those eyes before

You know she likes watching people with their spouse
feels more comfortable in another person's house
She's like an open book, but hides the final page
A child at heart, but with a soul so old of age

your fingers trace her face in black and white
your hands have always been so easy to excite
by her skirts and the touch of her very skin
her lips like the cherry pops she sucks like it's a sin

and you remember that her laugh rings like a bell
and she loves to see you smile at her as well
as you do when you glance for another look
at the love of your life from that picture in a book
